BK CUP

Whose name will be engraved on the trophy? Who wins an annual membership? Who gets lucky in the draw? Come and find out!

Finland's oldest bouldering cup is back again for another round! The legendary BK CUP gathers BK's community for a night of competing each month! The first competition of 2024 is held in Herttoniemi on Friday 12.1.

BK CUP is a competition open to everyone, where annual members compete for free and other climbers for a small fee of 10 euros (+entrance)! The prizes are epic: the best will win an annual membership and great prizes will be drawn among all participants!

There will be some 20 problems and they will be built on Thursday and Friday of the comp week. The competition starts on Fridays after the routesetting is finished at 18.00 and lasts until midnight.

Everyone is welcome - you don't have to be an experienced competition champion to participate: these comps are a great way to increase your competition experience and get to know the world of competitive climbing in a relaxed way!

The comp schedule is as follows:

Competitions take place Friday evenings from 18.00 until 24.00 (except for the Xmas comp which is from 17.00 to 21.00)

The monthly competition is open for all the customers of Boulderkeskus and everyone can climb the problems even if they are not participating in the competition. The competition problems are numbered and marked with tape (fours tapes for both hands and feet).

The competition is found in Problemator at the address pwa.problemator.fi. During the competition, logging ascents is done via Problemator. The competition for each gym is marked separately. To find competitions, log in with the browser, scroll down and select Upcoming competitions. The first competition can be found under the name BK Cup 1/2024.

The competition fee is 10€/competition + entrance fee. The competition is free of charge for Collective members. After registering, you need to pay the fee at the cashier and your registration will be confirmed. Collective members need to register at the cashier as well!

Registration is done with Problemator via browser at pwa.problemator.fi. On the same site, competitors log their ascents and the points are calculated automatically. NB! In the 2024 cup, extra points are given for flashes!

Scoring:

Each problem is worth 100 points. The points for each problem are divided among the ones who climbed the problem. For example, if three climbers have climbed it: 100p / 3 = 33.3p and so all three climbers get 33.3 points from that particular problem. In addition, extra points are given for flashing a problem with a multiplier of 1.5.

Awards for the whole cup:

1st place: 12 months of climbing

2nd place: 6 months of climbing

3rd place 3 months climbing

In addition, prizes will be drawn among all participants at the last competition of the year!
